M&S Food is cutting the prices of over 200 products by an average of 11% as part of its promise to deliver trusted value for its 30 million customers.
The new M&S Food price cuts follows recent price investments include a cut in June when the retailer announced it would be cutting the prices of 75 products, and most recently at the start of September it extended its Price Lock on over 140 products.
The price investment comes as increasing numbers of M&S customers are looking to get ahead with Christmas plans this year. Almost 50% of shoppers have started preparing for Christmas and M&S’ Christmas food to order sales are up 22% compared to this time last year with products like the Honey Roasted Parsnips proving a huge hit.
Additionally as part of its trusted value promise to offer value to customers M&S has kept prices on the majority of lines on a like for like basis from last year, with 70% of this year’s Gift Shop range under £20 and 30% at £10 or less.
Alex Freudmann, Managing Director at M&S Food said: “I believe the quality of M&S Food can’t be matched. We use only the best ingredients and always aim to make the most delicious food. We’re proud to sell the widest range of RSPCA Assured products and be the number one retailer for animal welfare.
“But while we continue to deliver industry leading quality, it’s important we don’t lose sight of what’s also important for our customers this autumn – value. That’s why we’re passing on savings to customers and cutting prices once again as part of our trusted value promise. So customers can be confident that whenever they shop with M&S they’ll be getting the best possible food for the best possible price.”
