Applegreen and M&S expand partnership with 20 new food stores across Ireland

Applegreen, a leading Irish roadside hospitality brand, is significantly expanding its successful partnership with Marks & Spencer (M&S) by opening 20 new M&S Food “shop-in-shop” locations this year.

This multi-million-euro investment will bring the total number of M&S Food stores within Applegreen locations to 41 by year-end, with plans to reach 60 in the medium term. Each new outlet will offer over 400 M&S Food products, enhancing Applegreen’s existing offerings and providing customers with greater choice and convenience.

The first of these new stores opened in Ennis at Applegreen’s Limerick Road location earlier this month.

“Our partnership with M&S has thrived over the past two years, and we are thrilled to bring M&S Food to 20 additional locations this year,” said Mark Ryan, Head of M&S at Applegreen. “This expansion is a key component of our growth strategy in the Irish market, alongside investments in our Braeburn Coffee brand and new site developments.”

The expansion nearly doubles Applegreen’s existing M&S Food network. All new locations will also offer M&S Click & Collect for Clothing and selected Home products, allowing customers to order online at marksandspencer.com/ie and collect their purchases at their local Applegreen.

Eddie Murphy, Country Director for M&S in Ireland and Northern Ireland, stated, “This expansion is fantastic news for M&S customers across Ireland. We are bringing our trusted quality and delicious food range to more locations, offering great value and convenience. Extending our Click & Collect service to these new stores makes it even easier for customers to access our clothing and home ranges.”

Each M&S Food at Applegreen outlet features an extensive range of M&S products, including ready meals, sandwiches, fresh produce, flowers, and popular treats like Percy Pig sweets and Colin the Caterpillar cakes.

Applegreen, which currently operates over 500 locations across Ireland, the UK, and the US, recently announced a €1bn investment plan for the next five years, focusing on expanding and upgrading its sites and EV charging networks. This partnership with M&S Food, now encompassing 22 stores, complements Applegreen’s leading store proposition in the Irish market and broadens the reach of the M&S Food range.
