Poundland has begun a mass overhaul of its general merchandise ranges that will see 2,000 new lines introduced across all its UK and Ireland stores. The stores will get access to the same products available in Pepco’s 4,800-plus store estate across Europe.

Poundland said the move will help it deliver on its promise of amazing value to customers and is the single biggest change to its offer in its 30-plus history.

The new lines stretch across kitchenware, toys, technology, as well as bathroom and home décor and are available in Poundland’s 850-plus stores across the UK and Ireland, with the rest of the changeover taking place over the coming weeks.

The new lines will also be available on the retailer’s website with 170 best-selling items available online from this week, rising to 450 in the weeks ahead.

Poundland commercial director Tim Bettley said: “It’s hard to underestimate the importance of this move for our customers – not least because of the incredible value these ranges also offer.

“Completing the transition of both clothing and home ranges to revamped ranges powered by our parent company Pepco, will not only give our stores a fresh new look, but deliver the amazing value that’s at the heart of our customer promise.

“A change on this scale is transformational for Poundland and we’re excited to see the customer reaction to these ranges.”
